  • Photoset: Restoring a Japanese Tansu

    Restoring a Japanese Tansu

In 2014, we bought this Japanese Tansu for a few reasons: it was completely intact structurally, had aged beautifully, and had a handsome face. It was very much like discovering a 1969 Corvette Stingray in a dusty barn out in the country; it’s filthy, but under that thick layer of grit you know the chrome and Monza red paint is waiting to shine.

  • MIC3 – Meet the Makers & Opening Night!

With over 280 people in attendance, our Made in Chicago III show opening exceeded expectations—and our beverage supply! Guests mingled with the artists and their creations while enjoying wine, cheese, and hors d'oeuvres. The store provided the perfect backdrop – ancient architecture for modern furniture. If you couldn’t join us last Thursday, don’t worry—the show exhibition runs until May 15th.

Last Wednesday, we hosted the launch party of Refined Haystack is the online place where designers, stores and homeowners come together to share photos, tag products, comment on jobs and generally connect. About 80 people came and it was a huge, fun success. Kudos to Sabrina Vodnik, the founder and design guru behind Refined Haystack.

  • Photo: Entry Garden Mountain

We’ve added a “mountain” to our entry garden. It’s modern, natural and was made in-house from Cedar planks by our talented staff.

  • Photo: Central Europe Shipment

Our newest shipment from Central Europe just arrived ad has been unloaded.  We have a number of Hungarian Deco dining tables, sets of club chairs and small walnut side tables.

  • Photoset: Reclaimed Wood Pieces

    Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.

Of Reduce, Re-use, and Recycle, Re-using is arguably the most important. Why consume resources to produce something new, when it already exists? Furnishing with antiques embodies this spirit. Even the newly-made pieces at The Golden Triangle re-use old wood reclaimed from waste. Here are some of our newly-made pieces:

  • Photoset: Golden Triangle Room Vignettes

The Golden Triangle (Chicago, IL, USA) is arranged in a series of vignettes designed to reflect spaces from home and outdoors.  Keep in mind our layout changes often, in fact, as I type one side table near me was sold and a wonderful art deco bar was moved in to replace it.  To fully experience our store’s products, I encourage you to visit sometime.  We also serve as a first-class event space for special occasions, a venue that is truly memorable.
