War and Controversy

This apron is a well?balanced composition with central figures of two warring braves on horseback, the white horse in
distress from the arrow piercing his breast. Mr. Smith utilizes a variety of detailed stitching techniques such as “speckling” (picking up
several shades of beads while sewing the grass) and innovative use of rhinestones to accent the weapons, shields, and headdresses. Mr.
Smith’s beadwork is very neat and tight and features evenly grained beadwork within each of the forms in the piece. Glass seed beads (size 10/0) hand sewn on canvas. 10?20 different colors used. Rhinestone, Pleated Velvet, and Ostrich Plume.
