Chateau Chic...In Chicago
Date: October 21, 2011 - November 19, 2011

On Friday, October 21, 2011, The Golden Triangle will open Chateau Chic, our biggest Fall design show ever and a must-see for those looking to combine antiques from diverse places and periods into an elevated interior.
Chateau Chic will juxtapose handpicked European and Chinese antiques and art to create a hybrid mansion of the future in downtown Chicago. The purpose of the show is twofold: to showcase antiques from the golden age of France and China and to show how these pieces can be artfully combined to bring style, romance and impact to the modern home.
The "chateau" is as much an idea or aspiration as it is an actual place. It's much more intimate and comfortable than a palace, but evokes the elegance and grandeur which are so absent in many areas of 21st-century life, including the contemporary home.
Highlights of the show include a pair of massive Chinese wardrobe cabinets in black lacquer; a collection of 18th-century Flemish oil paintings, A French salon sofa from the 19th Century, several sets of leather chateau chairs, a cast iron bust of Apollo and a rare "baroque" Chinese altar made from Walnut wood.
The show opens on Friday, October 21 and continues through November 19, 2011.
