Set of Armchairs with Tea Table

These handsome chairs feature intricate carvings depicting dragons, steeped arms and an ornate scroll on its crest rail. Made from the Qing dynasty, the chairs are made up of two parts: a waisted stool and an upper backrest that resembles a screen panel. Stout and with a generous cut, these chairs have a substantial presence. In the homes of the wealthy, they were a status symbol and given priority in the main room. The tea table is an adaptation of an incense Stand or flower Stand found in Classic Chinese furniture. The center shelves are ideal for books or small accessories.
