Chinese Neolithic Terracotta Vessel

The ovular body and slightly tapered neck aredecorated with black geometric and linear designs, as well as figures of deer or stags. From the K'a-no culture of the Lin-Chih region found in the Tibetan Plateau, this hand-formed and painted pot still possesses remnants of a rust-red coloring from the nautral pigments used to dye it.
