Kang Table Pottery

Han Dynasty (206 BC – AD 220) tombs included replicas of everything necessary for the afterlife. Most pieces were ceramic and many were coated with green, lead-based glaze. In addition to attendants, animals and vessels, miniature replicas of furniture were also buried. This ceremonial Kang table features two attendants and is covered in a green glaze. Due to long exposure to moisture, parts of the surface have turned silvery-white.
